28 March 2022

Good Running Events is delighted to announce that local charity Anna’s Hope will continue to be the charity partner of the 5K Fun Run at the Great Eastern Run.

A popular fixture in the race calendar in 2022 and in its 40th anniversary year, the popular Great Eastern Run will return this Autumn and see leading club athletes and charity fun runners tackle a fast, flat route through the streets of Peterborough.

And Good Running Events and Anna’s Hope will be working together going forwards to grow the 5K Fun Run, which is the starting event at the Great Eastern Run, alongside theWheelchair Half Marathon and the Half Marathon following afterwards.

Director of Good Running Events Aaron Murrell commented: “I’m thrilled that we are going to be working with Anna’s Hope going forwards as the official charity partner of the 5K Fun Run at the Great Eastern Run, and we cannot wait to see all of the fundraisers in action on 16th October 2022. We are aware of Anna’s Hope’s long standing involvement in the Great Eastern Run in previous years, and we are looking forward to continuing that work with the charity going forwards, and raising awareness of the charity as much as possible, and supporting their vital work.

“The Great Eastern Run will be returning this year, and we couldn’t be happier that Anna’s Hope will be returning as part of that – and we are looking forward to seeing the thousands of runners beginning their 5K Fun Run at 10.00am on Sunday 16th October”.

Co-founder of Anna’s Hope Carole Hughes said “I am delighted that the Great Eastern Run is returning to Peterborough and that the Anna’s Hope 5K Fun will also be back.Over the years Anna’s Hope has been proud to support the 5K Fun Run and we are looking forward once again to welcoming runners from the local community including families, friends, schools, clubs and local businesses to challenge themselves, have fun and if they can, raise funds for charities and good causes.”

Organisers expect to see more runners than ever before to take part in the 2022 Great Eastern Run and thousands more lining the streets to cheer them on. The event will kick off with the Anna’s Hope 5K Fun Run at 10am, before the Wheelchair Half Marathon at 10.25am and Half Marathon at 10.30am.

Entries are now open for all distances within the Great Eastern Run on 16th October – and runners can register via www.greateasternrun.co.uk
